Writers Over Rifles is dedicated to preventing the desensitization of school shootings, recognizing the names of the victims, raising restrictions of the purchasing of semi-automatic rifles, and encouraging other young individuals to start organizations themselves.
Founded by Siena Liljegren, Alexander Ashman, and Yash Wadwekar, Writers Over Rifles hopes to prevent future tragedies and inspire others to do the same. In our local Paradise Valley community, we want to enact legislations that:
1. Raise the age limit for the purchasing of semi-automatic rifles from 18 to 21.
2. Include the state database in background checks.
3. Create longer training periods for gun permits.
